The original recipe of Samuel Adams Boston Lager was developed in 1860 in St. Louis by Louis Koch. It is a golden coloured representative of the Vienna Lager style and after pouring forms a thick and long-lasting cap of foam. The beer has a strong malty character with hints of caramel and noticeable hop bitterness in the background. It is moderately full-bodied, smooth, with lively carbonation.
